Nithyam – dhyanam – anandam

What is needed so as not to collect gathered agamya karma, is life solutions, what I call nithyam (eternal) because you practice them daily. To dissolve the karma of this birth, you need meditation or dhyanam. That is why you see that most of our meditations are based on breathing. Altering the breathing, making it fast, slow, silent etc, is what our meditation techniques are all about. The only thing that can dissolve the total karma is the master’s grace or anandam (bliss).

So understand, karma is simply the effects of thoughts, words and deeds that stem from deep ignorance and cause you to again and again tread familiar patterns of misery. The way to break this cycle is to tune into the clicks received from the master and live in an elevated zone of consciousness.

Creation of Space

Every time you visualize and make it into reality, it is called “Creation”.  But you visualize, you didn’t make it into reality, you failed, means, it is only “Recreation”, it cannot be direct creation. Please understand, every time you hold a space for something, if there is incompletion, if there is an incompletion, the reality you created collapses.  So, again you will have to complete this incompletion and hold that reality back.  So, listen, so it cannot be called as “Creation”. 

I wanted everyone of you to provide intense listening, because one of the major mistakes we are doing in the Science of Creating Space and why we go on losing confidence over space or blaming ourselves, ‘Oh, this space creation and all works sometimes, doesn’t work sometimes, many times it doesn’t work.’ Listen!  I want you to learn these nitty-gritty’s of space creation.  Once you create a space, if there is an incompletion, the whole space collapses. Don’t think if you just complete that incompletion, that space runs.  No!  You have to recreate again.  So, whenever you find an incompletion, complete that incompletion and drop and recreate the whole space again.  Only then it gets its own individual energy, intelligence, inspiration.

Listen!  I will give you the exact example.  For example, I wanted health, or some things to happen as I want.  It is an example I am giving.  Let me give you an example of…..  If you want wealth, you create the space for attracting may be hundred million dollars.  After you created the space, after two-three minutes, you think, ‘Baaah!  Who is going to get fooled by this space creation idea and all?  May be by teaching this space creation idea, HE (Swamiji) might have become what HE wanted to achieve, but we have not got anything.’  Some foolish things.  But the moment that incompletion comes, you catch that, you catch your SDHD (Self-Doubt, Hatred, Denial) and complete with that and drop.  After you complete and drop, you think that space you created earlier is by itself powerful.  No!  Once you complete the incompletion, again you have to visualize step-by-step and create the space, because when you complete the incompletions and drop them, along with that, the visualization you created earlier also goes away. 

See, the next few days I really wanted to teach you the science of space creation.  The science of space creation is a self-Kundalini-awakening process, understand?  The science of space creation is a self-Kundalini-awakening process.  You can awaken your Kundalini on your own right, on your own energy, on your own intelligence.  You can awaken your Kundalini on your own.  This science of space creation, the science of creating the space can awaken your Kundalini on your own and keep your Kundalini in the right direction. Constantly perform responsible intense action with no clinging to the reward of performance.

IA Participant: Dear Swamiji, in Bhagavadgita chapter 5 verse 11 and Chapter 5 verse 12, the sacred secret is – ‘Constantly perform responsible intense action with no clinging to the reward of performance.’ My question is – I typically prioritise my business tasks by revenue; the higher the revenue, the higher the priority of the task. Is this verse 11 and 12 of chapter 5 applicable in the planning, execution, or both phases. Please clarify. Thank you, Swamiji.

Swamiji: Please understand, you doing the business tasks by the revenue, higher the revenue, higher the priority is perfect. Nothing wrong. But when you start calculating your whole life just based on the money or the revenue, that is where something is seriously wrong. At some points you may have to perform many actions which does not bring direct revenue but which brings fulfillment. For example, all the actions in your relationship, family; you may have to get a toy and give it to your child, you may have to give a smile to your spouse, you may have to give a hug to your friend,  don’t lose those dimensions.

Unfortunately if you put everything in the revenue sheet; toy is not a revenue, it is only an expense, a smile is not going to give you revenue, those things only I am saying, even when you need to do something which is related to your relationship which does not bring revenue, be responsible for it, be total in it. Otherwise you performing your actions, based on higher the revenue, higher the priority of task, perfect. Forget about you, even I perform like that only. That is the way life happens. That is the way life is. But you will see in me the same totality, and intensity when I perform all the actions which are not related to revenue, which are related to seva / service. When I conduct a medical camp or when I conduct some satsang or the mass programs, annadhan or any other social activities, social service activities which are no way related to revenue, you will see the same intensity in me. The prioritization may happen based on the revenue but the smile cannot happen based on the revenue.

See, after prioritizing when you start working, then forget about everything. It should be a complete total being.  You prioritizing, see.. if you are not prioritizing based on revenue you can be a complete fool. I have seen.. I have seen penny wise pound foolish fellows. They will save few pennies and lose not just pounds, millions of pounds.

In planning, do prioritize based on the revenue but when you execute forget about the revenue. Be total. Complete. Even planning as per revenue has to be done responsibly, intensely. When you execute perform intensely without bothering about the reward. See.. when I plan, I plan this, this, this, this, this. When I execute even if the reward does not come, I don’t bother. I go ahead, execute. Do it. Over.

In planning, do responsibly. In execution do responsibly without clinging to the reward of performance.

What is inner space? What is silence? When will I experience silence? How do I know if I am meditating rightly?

What is inner space ?

Inner space means when you close your eyes and look inside, how you feel, what you feel as you, that is inner space.

Second, what is silence?

If that inner space—if you suddenly feel as if you have taken bath in the cold water and the whole thing inside is in the eternal peace, there is no agitation, it is all completely in peace, in restful awareness, that is what I call ‘inner silence’- means less number of thoughts.

Third question—when will I experience silence?

Whenever you want, that’s all. It is actually you need to feel tired of wandering around. Unless you feel tired of wandering around, if I have to use very strong term—fooling around, your mind goes on fooling around. Instead of real source of joy, you just go round, go round, go round, go round, try to taste everything; other than your food you try to taste everything. When I say everything, I mean everything. Your mind also does the same thing, going around constantly, fooling around, trying this, this, this, this, this, this,this, this, this, this, this..What is the essence? It just goes on.  Goes on trying. I tell you, your mind needs to be little tired, tired of roaming around, wandering, only then it will experience silence. It will decide to experience silence.

You are asking, ‘how do I know if I am meditating rightly?’

When you meditate rightly, peace will start growing in you like a tree growing, the experience of peace will start growing in you. Nothing can agitate you. No one can disturb you. Growing peace in you. When peace grows in you rightly, you are meditating rightly.

Your body is an integrated intelligence!

When was the last time you sang with your eyes? Danced with your smile? Throw your whole body and being into anything, just anything?

If you notice children, their whole body is one organic unity. Whatever they are doing, their whole body just flows into that action. They don’t create separation in the body. It is not as if the head is important and the feet are unimportant. The truth is that there is no division in your body, no natural demarcations exist. But by and by demarcations start coming up. Then the head becomes the master, and the whole body is divided into parts. We stop experiencing our body as a whole. We create roles for each part of our body, and then limit them in these roles. We forget to be total in anything. In the martial arts tradition, students are told, Your whole body should become an eye! Just imagine! This is the kind of sensitivity that needs to be developed in the body! This is what is being total. Totality is the way to live. Your mind is always limiting you. Drop your mind and be total in whatever you do. Then there will be no hangover in anything. Everything will become a joyful meditation. You will experience fulfillment in whatever you do. When you miss the totality, you become fragmented. When you are total, you become integrated. Being integrated is your true nature.

Whatever you are doing, it naturally becomes your meditation for that moment. When you are looking at something, look with your whole body. Understand, you don’t just see with the eyes. You can see with your whole body! When you are looking at something intensely, totally, your whole being flows towards that. But we rarely enter into anything totally. Now, be total and integrated in all your body movements. When you are listening, listen with your whole body. Let a deep silence be created in your center. Let your listening happen from that center. When you are laughing, feel the laughter rising from deep inside you. Let your whole body bubble with laughter! Even when you are working, using only your hands, feel the movement in your whole body. Experience your body as an integrated whole. Experience every pore of your skin looking, listening, laughing. Don’t think, how can I see with my skin? There are many interesting incidents where blind people have taught their fingers to ‘see’ colors!

You don’t realize, your body is an integrated intelligence! You never use all the possibilities of your body. When you are total, a new sensitivity flowers in your body. Your body responds as a whole to life. You begin to live completely with your body. Not only that, you will find your body expressing abilities that you never imagined. Your body has a tremendous potential that you have never used. When you fulfill all the possibilities of your body, naturally you become ready to go beyond the body.

Holes in our Whole

1. HOW DO WE KNOW THERE ARE HOLES IN OUR WHOLE? 

At any time even once if there is a situation or incident which is making us feel powerless, worried, angry, stressful, unhappy, sad, agitated, violent, guilty, vengeful, frustrated, overwhelmed, less than peaceful or blissful, then we can be sure there are incompletions or holes in our true self.

    

WHAT WE DON’T  SEE IN THE MIRROR…IS…

The invisible hangovers [incompletions] crowding our inner space from every single incident that we encountered.

2. WHAT CAUSES HOLES IN OUR WHOLE? 

The innerspace of a child is more of visualization than verbalization. But when a child goes through a conflicting incident [less than blissful, could be a reprimanding from an elder, a sibling rivalry, fear stroke, etc] for the first time and thereafter, the child handles such a situation with inadequate cognition. That is when the identities and thought patterns set in.

To handle this emergency situation, one picks up 3 identities:

Mamakara: The image about oneself

Ahankara: The image one projects to others & the world

Sva Anyakara: The image about others & the world

Anyakara: The image which one believes that others & world has about oneself

 

These identities become the repeating root thought patterns which attracts similar situations throughout one’s life. The inner space with the hangovers starts handing all incidents and people with a repeating pattern, even though the people, time & place are different.

Don’t follow rules and tradition blindly !

In the Olden days, people in India did not stitch clothes after sunset. This is because all stitching was done by hand with a needle. In the dim candle or kerosene lamp light it w$as not possible to see properly and one could get hurt by poking the fingers with needle. Even now in India, some people will not stitch with a needle after sunset. Even seamstresses and tailors will not do it, though we now have electricity and lights. They may not even stitch using machines! When we don’t have the necessary understanding of a practice, it becomes a dead rule, a superstition. With understanding, any rule can become a technique, a tool that helps us to lead life happily.

With deep understanding, it will dawn upon us that all rules were basically created to help people live blissfully and happily. The rules were meant to ensure that you were in peace with yourself and the others around you. Today, we have forgotten the basis for these rules. We create hell for ourselves and others with these rules.

There are people who truly believe that meditation and prayer will save their lives. They have been told so! They fuss a lot before they begin to meditate at home. They silence the children and all others around. They turn the whole household upside down. All for the sake of ten minutes of meditation! Let us see how the meditation proceeds. The moment meditation begins, they doze off! After a minute or two, they will start swatting mosquitoes. A couple of minutes later, a major itch manifests on some part of their body. Then, the back will begin to ache. Enough is enough, they decide, “I will continue this tomorrow. It is enough for today.”

Meditation is done for the sake of peace and silence. Why meditate at all, if inner awareness cannot be created? It is like a speaker trying to silence the listeners by outshouting at them. Will it help? If the listener is not interested however much one shouts, it is of no use. You cannot silence your inner chatter by making others quiet. You need to become silent, not others. We follow rules and tradition blindly. That is why religion has such a powerful hold on us.

Let us awaken to the powers that are within us! Nature has endowed us with unimaginable energy to be free. Be alert, awake and reach for this liberation!

Intelligence is being aware and spontaneous

EVERY one of us has intelligence.

It is an inherent, inborn quality of life. Intelligence is not something to attain; every living being is endowed with intelligence. Most of us have lost touch with our natural intelligence; that is why we are not able to live life to its fullest potential. We constantly mistake our acquired knowledge for intelligence. We have been conditioned to think that we have only limited capabilities, that ‘we cannot…’. So we have forgotten how to use our full potential. And because of this, we are not tuned to the technique to tap into all the dimensions of our being.

We have a natural, spontaneous intelligence inside us. We have tasted it as children.

As children, we looked at things in a very simple, straightforward way.

That is why we were so spontaneous. What took away that spontaneity? The societal conditioning has been telling us right from when we were children, ‘You are not enough…’ Because of this, we are constantly trying to become something else, to prove something to others. By constantly thinking that we are not enough, we try to imitate others and waste the wonderful natural energy bubbling inside us.

When we are deeply aware, we cannot make mistakes! With awareness, we don’t rely on what others have taught us. We don’t rely on the past conditioning that has gone inside us for many years. We act just out of the fresh intelligence that comes with awareness every moment. With deep awareness we are in the present moment. When we are in the present moment, we are alive and alert — what we call as intelligence.

Our intelligence by its very nature is spontaneous. It is only a question of awakening it from within. Most of the time, we continue to live in the dead past and miss the wonderful dimensions of life. Or, we get angry over what has happened and feel hurt. Either way, we are escaping from the problem by going to one extreme or the other. Instead, if we just look with deep awareness into the problem, an energy will awaken — the energy of intelligence — which is enough to bring about the solution. The very awareness is enough to awaken and break free even from the past conditioning — and we can act intelligently. The light of awareness is enough to remove the darkness created by years of living by habit. The whole key lies in being aware so that our intelligence can function. Live every moment in total awareness. Live with intelligence.

Take Responsibility!

When you take responsibility for everything that is happening inside and outside you, then many possibilities are available for you. Take Responsibility! When you take responsibility, then your very breathing will expand. Your thinking, breathing and experience of life – all this progress, when you take responsibility. When you take responsibility with integrity and authenticity, then the mystical spiritual powers are awakened in you. Taking responsibility, awakens the power of creativity in you. With responsibility, you can cure all diseases from your head ache to cancer. Understand – When you expand and experience responsibility, then a unique grace is awakened in you.  

Being responsible is not just to increase your productivity in your work, but to enrich your entire life. Taking responsibility is life. Not taking responsibility is death. When you don’t take responsibility, you shrink. When you take responsibility you expand. In whichever field you feel responsible, you expand in that field. If you take responsibility in every field, then in that every field, you will expand.When you take responsibility for your heart beat, then you will have the capacity to understand the others heart beat also.

Why spiritual practices and religious living ??

The moment you assume body, the moment you are embodied, you have already received the possibility of Super-Consciousness. You have to become enlightened, no way, either by being beaten strongly by the fear or greed or spouse or mistress.

You do not have choice whether to experience Super-Consciousness or not, but you have a choice whether the transition into Super-Consciousness is going to be smooth or difficult. 

Life is as such is transition into Super-Consciousness. Nothing else. Even if you drink whole day alcohol and womanize whole night and eat all filth and do all the extreme negative things, you are transitioning into Super-Consciousness. But, difficult, long, hard way, that’s it.

If you are feeling you exist, anything you do is transition into Super-Consciousness. Spiritual practices, religious techniques makes the transition blissful happy. That’s it. 

Life is super-conscious transition, any action you do, the transition is happening. The actions through which the transition is hard, difficult, complicated are called  Wrong acts and wrong thoughts. The acts and thoughts which makes the transition smooth, joyful, relaxed, blissful is called ‘Spirituality’.

Nirbhaya Dhyana – Death Meditation

Every fear you accumulate, every fear makes you feel agitated, every fear which you do not want to think or remember – go through, go into all those fears consciously neither deciding to save yourself from that fear nor having greed to achieve what you are afraid of. So without having the greed or fear enter into the fear. Naturally the fear will lose its quality of fear when you do not carry fear or greed for the fear. Greed has its quality of greed because you are greed for greed and fear about the greed. Same way the fear has the quality of fear because you are fear for the fear and indirect greed towards the fear. So when your fears are approached with fearlessness and greedlessness, the straightening out of your consciousness every day happens.

The change of consciousness from Jagrath to Swapna, Swapna to Sushupthi ; The waking state to dream state and dream state to the deep sleep state happens because your awareness is not straightened out. Either the bumps of the fear or bumps of the greed responsible for your consciousness jumping from waking state to dream state or dream state to deep sleep state. If you remove all the bumps of the fear before falling asleep you will not fall asleep, you will fall into something called restful awareness, which is recorded by the word – Turiya – by the earlier mantra drashtas. So the word Turiya denotes the state of falling into the restful awareness without the bumps of fear or greed. Every night remove all the bumps you created during your day time through fear or greed. Continous practice of removing all the bumps of fear and greed by facing them will help you to fall into the state of Turiya. This is what Mahadeva calls as Death process – Nirbhaya Dhyana.

Swapoornatva Kriya Process

First, please understand that the person in the mirror is the incomplete half of you. So when you complete with the person in the mirror, you restore completion to the person in the mirror and inside you as well.

Next:

  •  Sit in a comfortable position facing the mirror
  •  Connect with the person in the mirror. The person in the mirror is your incomplete self and you your complete self.
  • Look directly into the eyes of the incomplete self in the mirror
  • Contemplate on incidents/situations in your life where you experience low level energy emotions such as anger, guilt, frustration, agitation with yourself (incompletion in some form) from those incidents/situations – in the present moment
  • Now take responsibility for liberating your Incomplete self from this incompletion that you have kept alive for yourself
  • Re-live those incidents/situations and talk aloud with the person in the mirror.
  • Repeat re-living the incidents/situations and continue talking again and again till you experience being free of the low level emotions inside you.

Repeat this process each time you are stuck with low level emotions related to yourself.

Ananda Gandha

There are 7 major energy centers. The 8th energy center where all these 7 merge, become one with, is what is Ananda Gandha. It is not even a separate chakra, it is a space, source of super-conscious energy; where the matter comes in direct contact with Consciousness, where the Consciousness is directly touching the matter. It is the experience where the consciousness has Samyoga into matter, where matter has Samyoga with Consciousness. When you relax into that space, Consciousness fills matter, so naturally Super-Conscious healing happens. It is the highest happening which can happen to matter. Not just physical healing or mental healing, radiating pure consciousness. 

The source of Ananda Gandha which is source of spiritual super-conscious healing is the ultimate science towards enlightenment. Not just physical healing or mental healing. Physical healing also happens, because the very DNA structure gets re-altered when you relax into super-conscious state. 

Ananda Gandha chakra is the door where Consciousness can infiltrate matter. Where it can fill you. Where it can give you the extra-ordinary conscious experience means break-through in consciousness. The subtlest possible chakra is Ananda Gandha chakra, where you are no more ordinary human and just disappeared into the extra-ordinary super-consciousness. 

The technique or process for the Ananda Gandha to be opened is two:- 

1. If it has to be done by your effort – Unclutching.

2. If it can be done with My effort also – Process.

3. If it has to be done only by Me – Initiation.

Healthy body

Your body is the vehicle for your dreams and your ornament. Your body is vehicle for your dreams, for all your dreams. The dream may be related to relationships or luxury or comforts, joys, experiences or enlightenment or whatever it may be. Your body is vehicle for all your dreams and it is an ornament. This is the definition of body.

Health means the ability to fulfill all the dreams you are carrying in a very casual way without losing the quality of being an ornament. Your body should be able to fulfill all the dreams which you are loading on it by being an ornament for you. It should be an ornament for you and it should be a vehicle for your dreams. That is what I will define as a health. If your body is fulfilling all your dreams and it got damaged, that is not health. It should fulfill all your dreams undamaged, that’s what I call health.

Should we accept our partner with all his/her faults ?

Even the word accept  carries a feeling of condemnation. When you say the words “accept him with all his faults“, it is like a silent complaint. It is like saying, “What to do, we have to live with it”. No! I tell you, welcome the other person into your life, just as he or she is. There is a difference between accepting and welcoming. Accepting is like making a compromise. Welcoming is opening out your being to the other person without any expectation, unconditionally. 

The whole of creation is a gift to you from Existence. Receive it with grace and humility. When you do this, the tremendous energy of the muladhara chakra is opened to you. To awaken this chakra, is to touch a perennial source of energy. The tremendous energy that is usually locked in imagination, expectation and greed can be made available for creativity, for business, for life, and for reality!

motorbike adAlmost all motorbike ads show women, although very few women ride motorbikes. Whatever the product may be, you will find a smiling woman recommending it. When you go to the market you promptly pick up that product, forgetting that the women does not come with it! That is the media’s way of cashing in on your suppressed desires. We collect the dreams that they sell and keep running over them in our minds hoping to quench our thirst. Is it possible? Can your thirst for water be quenched by consuming salt.? No! If you do this, your thirst will only increase. 

If you are alert and aware, advertisement hoardings can never fool you. Of course, by seeing them you can always be aware of the latest things in the market, no doubt, but they will not deceive you. You will not be vulnerable to them. You will be able to see them objectively and leave it at that. You will not feel an instant and unconscious pull towards them. It is only when you allow your reactive mind to be your deciding authority that you are in trouble. You need to replace the reactive mind with your intelligence so that you are with awareness all the time. This is where meditation helps a lot.

Suddenly you know for sure that something is the right thing and you feel that you have enough energy also to do it, but you don’t know the steps involved in doing it. You don’t know the steps that led you to the conclusion but you know for sure that your conclusion or decision is right. This is intuition. 

If you can infuse deep silence and awareness into the unconscious zone and replace your engraved memories or files with silence and awareness, you can be at the intuition level.

How can we learn from past experience ?

Be very clear, you will never be able to learn from past experiences. Past experience can only make you do the same things again and again. Any memory about the past experience can only make you do the same thing in a larger or smaller way, but the quality will be the same.  Be very clear, you will never be able to achieve any significant transformation or change in your personality by remembering your past.

A connected, clutched mind creates more and more miseries in our personal life, professional career and relationships. It tremendously affects our creativity and economic well-being. Just unclutch. When we unclutch, the first thing that will happen to us will be the inner healing effect – a deep silence and peace in us. Second, that inner healing will start radiating in the physical well being, which is our health. Third, naturally it will start radiating in our relationships. Fourth, because these three are going beautifully, we will be creative and productive.

People tell me again and again, “Swamiji, I fail when I try to unclutch.’ I ask them, ‘Why are you connecting your past failure with your present failure?”. When you connect all the past failures, you create one more word – ‘Failure’. Why do you connect all of them and create the next experience also?

Just relax and stop connecting, and suddenly you will see such a deep inner healing happening in you. Suddenly you will see that you have dropped out of the war, the constant running. Just relax.

….. continued from “Unclutching – De-program the inner self” (part 1)

Now we are coming to the initiation part. Any thought may suddenly click with you. Oh God! Yes that is what is going on in me, that is what I am doing. One important truth – even if you want, even if you try consciously, you cannot possess, sit, catch your suffering. Its a very important truth. Even if you try to catch, you cannot catch your suffering. Because continuously your suffering is also replaced by different thoughts.

One person came to me and asked “Swamiji, I am suffering from lustful thoughts. Please give me solution”.

I told him “Just sit. Half-an-hour your mind should not go anywhere else. Meditate on lustful thoughts. Think only lustful thoughts. No other thoughts allowed”.

In 10 mins he opened his eyes and said “I am not able to concentrate on lustful thoughts Swamiji”.

I said “What are you talking. You just now said that you are haunted by those thoughts. I asked you to meditate on it. Just be with it. Now you are saying your mind is not staying on those thoughts, your mind is going somewhere else.”

Understand, fortunately you can have only one thought at a time. Am I right ?. You can have only one thought at a time, the moment some other thought is coming in your inner space means the earlier thought has lost its power or influence over you. Am I right ? . Please follow with me in every statement. Fortunately you can have only one thought at a time, the moment a new thought has come inside your system the old thought has lost its power or influence over your system. For example, the moment you have decided to stand up and leave, you renounced the thought of sitting and listening. The moment you renounce the thought of standing and leaving, you decided to sit and listen. The moment you stand up, you renounce the thought of sitting. The moment you decide to sit down, you renounce the thought of standing up. Any thought which comes in you newly replaces the old thought. The old thought loses its power or influence over you by new thought. Am I right ?

One person came and asked me “Swamiji, I am haunted by death fear. I have so much fear about losing my wealth and about my death. Give me some solution. Please remove fear “.

I told him “Please have cup of coffee”.

He said “What do you mean Swamiji ?”.

I said “Think of having cup of coffee and have cup of coffee”.

He said “What is there. How can that help me.”

I said “The moment you are able to think you are having cup of coffee or decide to have a cup of coffee, the fear which is haunting your inner space has left your inner space”. Am I right ? Unless the death fear which is haunting his inner space leaves his inner space, he cannot think of having a cup of coffee. Am I right ?. So naturally, a simple thought to have a cup of coffee can remove the so called powerful death fear.

That guy said “No, no, no, Swamiji. It looks too simple. But the death fear comes back what should I do ?”

“If it comes back, have one more cup of coffee. That’s all”.

“No, no, no you don’t understand how seriously I am talking. You are playing with me”.

I said “I am not playing. Just simple thing. Understand, just simple understanding. Fortunately you can have only one thought at a time. The moment a new thought comes, it means the old thought has lost its power over you. Otherwise, new thought cannot come inside. The old thought cannot be replaced. If the old thought is so strong it will just multiply and sit on you. The moment a new thought comes it means the old thought has lost its power over you and it has left you. Only because of that a new thought can come inside. So, the moment you can have a thought to have a cup of coffee or cup of water, the so called death fear has left you”.

He is not able to understand. He said “No, no. It cannot be so simple. I am really having fear Swamiji. It comes back”.

I told him “Now you know the method how to replace the death fear once. Then do the same thing again and again. That’s all.”.

He said “I drank cup of coffee once. Next time what to do? “.

“Have a cup of butter milk. That’s all”.

Understand any thought which comes inside your inner space newly replaces the old thought. Even if it was worst fear. Even if it was worst depression. Even if it was worst suffering. Even if it was worst attachment. Even if it was lust. Anything it can be or anything it may be.  The new thought happening in you proves, your inner space is now replaced by a new thought. The old thought has lost its power over your inner space. Any thought which can lose its power over your inner space, why are you afraid of it. Why should you be afraid of it ?.

Constantly we are carrying the fear that we will not be able to conquer our fear. We are carrying the fear, we will not be able to go beyond our attachment. We are carrying the fear we will not be able to go beyond our suffering. Understand an important thing – this is what I call “the click”, “initiation” – If a thought can be replaced, if a thought can leave your inner space once. It means it can be again and again removed as many number of times as it comes. That’s all. People tell me “How many times I can replace ?”. What is there. Every time when it comes have a cup of water in front of you, sip once and keep it. Play with your mind. Tease your mind, till it stops. “It may look very funny. No, no, no it looks too simple. How can this be done. I may look like a mad person”. Nothing wrong. Looking is perfectly alright than being. If a new thought can replace the old thought, then naturally no thought can occupy or replace or possess your inner space eternally. This is what is the click, the basic truth. A simple thought like having a cup of water can replace the so called powerful death fear. It means what, all you need is cup of coffee to conquer your fear. All you need is cup of water to conquer your lust. But mind says “No, no, no. It is not that easy. No, no Swamiji, it comes back what to do ?”. If it comes back, you also again come back. You also again stand up. Understand if you can replace 10 times, the 11th time the thought will not come. The frequency will come down. Fortunately you have a pure inner space which doesn’t get corrupted by the flowing thoughts. An important thing – a fortunately you have a screen which doesn’t get burned by burning thoughts. If you project a burning scene on the screen will the screen be burnt ?. No. Same way, you have a pure inner space which does not get corrupted or polluted or get possessed by a particular idea or a thought. This understanding deeply can completely liberate you from all the sufferings you create for yourself. It can bring tremendous self healing to you, tremendous freedom to you and tremendous courage and confidence. You see, now, if any fear arises in you. What you need to do ? a cup of coffee. And one more thing, immediately mind will question – ‘No, if I handle all my fears like this, what will happen if my property is taken away. Who will maintain my family?’. Don’t bother. You have an innate intelligence which I call prarabdha. It is powerful enough, capable enough to manage your life using your body and mind. All you need to do is stop creating the sufferings which you are creating. Please be very clear, life does not happen because of you, life happens in spite of you. 

Come back, unclutch again and again. Do not clutch the thoughts and create or give meaning to it. Unclutch again and again, come back and rest. You may say “How to unclutch, I don’t think I can unclutch from my mind”. This very thought ‘I don’t think I can unclutch from my mind’. You have already unclutched. Because this new thought can come only if the old thought leaves you. Fear can come only if the lust leaves, lust can come only if the fear leaves. You can have a thought to have a cup of water only if the fear leaves. You can have a thought to have a cup of coffee only if the suffering leaves. The moment you are able to think that I should have a cup of coffee already the so called suffering has left. If a thought is sitting inside your inner space, how can you have a new thought, you can’t. Understand, handle your enemy one at a time. If you think – ‘No, no, no. Its a long story you don’t know Swamiji. I tried 1000 techniques, I can teach you many more techniques nothing works. And my mind is not that simple as you think. May be your mind is simple that is why it worked’. Please understand, even in foolishness we are not in peak. That is the one of the important truth we need to understand. All of us have a very clear idea we are in the worst ignorance. No, it is not. Just this simple one truth – If a simple thought of having a cup of coffee can come inside means, any serious thought, it may be pain or suffering or anything it can be, it has left me. That is why a new thought is able to come, that is why I have an inner space to entertain a new thought. So, as long as you have freedom to entertain a new thought, you have a inner space to entertain a new thought, be very clear you cannot be possessed or tortured by any suffering or by any depression or any pain.

Because you can just bring one more new thought, the moment you bring a new thought what happened, the old thought has left you. Unless it leaves, you cannot bring a new thought. So be very clear your power to bring a new thought itself proves that you have power to drop the old thought. Instead of looking at the ability to replace, you are looking at the ability to bring it back. You have both. If you are constantly looking at the ability to bring it back you will create suffering. If you are constantly looking at the ablity to remove you will feel liberation. Understand, what you mother that you hatch. Hen mothers the egg and chicken comes out. If you are mothering the thought – ‘you can replace any suffering’, you will bring that into reality. If you are mothering the thought – ‘whatever I replace will come back’, you will bring that in your experience. If you are mothering the thought that it is going to come back, it will come back. If you are mothering the thought that it is going to go out, it will go out. Where you put your awareness, where you put your attention is the important thing. Understand your very ability to get a new thought shows that you have ability to discard an old thought. Any thought can be discarded by any simple thought. This simple understanding is more than enough to unclutch and to rest.

One important thing, whenever any fear, any unsolvable problem comes, all you need to do from today is have a cup of water, that’s all. Your mind will get little perturbed and shaken. Your suffering can rule you just because you are afraid of it. Have you seen in the movies, the underworld don’s when they get created, they too will have deep fear. But just your fear towards them will empower them. Same way your mind too has fear about you. Your fear towards your mind just empowers your mind. Your mind also sometimes feels “Oh, what is this”.But you are more afraid of your mind then naturally what happens your mind gets empowered. One more thing, even once if you can replace your depression from your inner space have confidence that I have replaced, I can do it again. So, if it comes back 10 times, let me do it 10 times. That’s all.

There is a very beautiful story in  Buddha’s life. Buddha says “Whenever I sat in meditation that I am going to get up after few hours I never became enlightened. Once I decided if I am not going to become enlightened, I am not going to get up from this seat – idam asanam sushyate sareeram“. This sanskrit sloka means let this body dry up in this very place till I become enlightened, I am not going to move. The moment He created this strong clarity, authentic sankalpa (will), next second He become enlightened. All you need to do when you replace your suffering, if you are thinking – “No, no, 10 times today I can replace 11th time if it comes back tomorrow only I have to try”. Then nothing will happen. Decide till it stops coming, I am going to replace. Thats what I call courage – dheera. And once you have replaced means you can start laughing at it. “Arey! I was afraid of you so many years, I was getting shaken by you for so many years. All it takes to push you out is a glass of water or a cup of coffee”. Nothing else. A thought to stand up is more than enough to remove the worst suffering from your inner space. Whatever can be it looks too simple. That is why the problem is because it looks too simple, people come and tell me ” No, no Swamiji, it cannot be so simple. I think you missed some where Swamiji”. No, really people think, “He is too young may be He knows only few things. That is what He is teaching”. No that is the problem. Understand, truth is simple.

Ramana Maharshi sang a very beautiful song. He says “So easy the enlightenment science”. I tell you it is neither difficult nor easy. Even if you say it is easy there is little difficulty. It is not even easy it is constantly happening in you. Don’t you understand. Every moment a thought is being replaced by a new thought. Why are you afraid that you will bring your old thought back. Its like trashing your emails and bringing it back from a trash can. Relax!.

Constantly your thoughts are getting replaced, this itself shows nothing can possess your inner space. Nothing can over power you. Nothing can over rule you. You have independent intelligence to replace any suffering. You have freedom to replace any fear. You have freedom to replace any negativity.

Its a very simple truth. This is what I call “Unclutching”. If you can understand one truth and connect with this. If this one truth clicks, this can destroy the root of ignorance. The root of mind. Nothing else is needed. And one more important thing, nothing else can work. Please understand nothing else can work. Anything you try to do by creating a new thought, creating new idea.. people come and tell me “Swamiji, I want to escape from my suffering, should I chant some mantra“. I tell them that will become one more suffering. I have seen people chanting Rama, Krishna, Rama, Krishna, Rama, Krishna…..and in between shouting “Have you purchased the vegetables….Did you fill the accounts…then again Rama, Krishna, Rama, Krishna…”. Understand many time when you try to repeat something you create a new shaft. People feel offended, “how can you say mantra japa does not help. I am not saying it does not help. Of course let me tell you openly, it does not help. I just thought I will be socially polite. But let me be open. The satya is much more important than being socially polite. Understand, I tested it in my life for 10 years. Not with one mala, I will have 2 malas. By the time I finished both malas, I have chanted 10008 times. I have done Enough!. I tell you that only creates one more guilt that you are not able to do mantra continuously. Because by that time you move the next bead already one thought has come. If somebody records what happens in your inner space it will be like this – “Rama, Krishna, move the next bead, Rama, Krishna, move the next bead, Rama, Krishna, move the next bead”. This is what is going on inside. “Oh! I think I chanted too many times, let me count”. I know because I have done it. Not only that I have always seen people when they start counting the beads with closed eyes, after sometime they will touch the mala with other hand and see how long it is going to take. Is it going to take 5 more min or 3 more min, where that bead is there. Let me tell you its from my experience. Understand, an important truth do not try to create one more shaft. Just realize – the shaft which you believe as exists, does not exist. That’s all you need to understand and rest in that unclutched awareness – Nirvikalpa Satya. 

Let me explain exactly what is unclutching. When you sit silently, you will see so many thoughts coming up. Do not connect all of them and give a meaning to it. The moment you give meaning to the words either you will try to suppress or you will try to execute. Either you will try to go behind them or you will try to suppress them. Creating a thought is Brahma’s work, maintaining a thought  is Vishnu’s work, destroying a thought is Rudra’s work. If you stop doing all these 3 work, you will become parabrahman. That’s all. Creation, maintainence, destruction – relax from all three. Relaxing from all three is what I call unclutching. Let me give you one more detail or very strong truth – When a thought arises in you instead of giving meaning to it, just unclutch, means just relax to the source. When a thought arises if you start giving meaning to it, what you will do, either you will try to do what the thought says or you will try to suppress. Don’t do both. Instead of putting attention towards the meaning of the sound, just see the source of the sound. Then your mind will say – “I am feeling bored”. This is one more thought. How will you have the idea that you are feeling bored. The boredom which you experienced 10 years ago, the boredom which you experienced 9 years ago, the boredom which you experienced yesterday are independent experiences. Why are you connecting all of them and giving that idea “Boredom”. Only when you connect all of them and give the idea this is what is boredom, now you will think – “Yes, I am having the same experience. I am having boredom”. Do not connect and clutch and see. Just see. If your mind says “I am feeling bored”. Just say “What is boredom ?. Let me not give some meaning out of my past clutching. Let me see what you mean by boredom. Let me see how it feels like”. Attend your enemy one thought at a time. If you think all thoughts put together is your enemy, you empowered your enemy. When you work with your enemy, divide and rule. If you think all your enemies have gathered together, you will start having all unnecessary fears. Your enemies are not that intelligent as you think always. This is one of the important sutra. Even in your life, your enemies are not that intelligent and understanding and co-operative as you think. Just like you, they will also have problem among themselves. If you think your mind is your enemy, do not empower it by saying  – It is one single, huge organism. NO. Handle it one thought at a time. Because in your hand you have only one weapon, means you have only one thought. One thought is one weapon. With one weapon or one thought how will you handle 10,000 thoughts. No, you can’t. So, tell your mind, come one at a time, we will face each other. We will see face to face. Face every single thought, unclutch from every single thought. Your mind will say “No, no, half-an-hour I unclutched.  Now again thoughts are coming”. The unclutching happened 30 mins ago, the unclutching happened 20 mins ago, the unclutching happened 10 mins ago are totally different individual experiences. Why are you connecting all those experiences and feeling that this unclutching and that unclutching is same. No. This moment what is happening in me is an independent experience. You need to put your whole attention and awareness on this very subtle truth only then the click will happen. If the click happens you are blessed. Because this very single click can be used as a key for so many difficulties and problems in your life. It will revolutionize the way in which your mind functions, the way in which your mind makes decisions, the way in which your fears threaten you and your desires drive you crazy. The whole thing will be re-organized, the whole thing will be revolutionized. If you know any big idea or goal drives you crazy can be replaced just by a thought of having a cup of coffee. Will you have respect for that goal, will you have respect for that ideal. Suddenly you will see, what all you thought as goal, does not have any power over your inner space. You say “No, no, no. That and all is really needed for life. I don’t want to leave this, I don’t want to leave that”. You may try to catch here, there, here, there. But what to do even if you try to catch it is slipping. How long will you try to catch a river which is flowing. You can’t. Suddenly you will see an immovable, authentic self arises in you – this is what I call – living enlightenment.

An authentic being which does not need your mind to operate your body is what I call Living Enlightenment. Your being does not need your mind to run your body. If your mind is constantly staying inside you, it is just because of fear – what will happen to me, how will my body run if my mind leaves me. You do not understand if your mind leaves you, your life will happen in a much better way, in a much more intelligent way. Because your mind is culprit. Your thinking is problem. Your dilemma is suffering. Your movement is depression.

When you sit if thoughts are rising, just remember let me unclutch and unclutch. I am not going to empower this thought by following or by fighting. Let me unclutch. Again in 2 seconds one more thought will come, again let me unclutch. After few minutes you will see continuously you are repeating the thought – “I am unclutching, I am unclutching”. Then unclutch from that too. The moment you remember you, immediately unclutch. Unclutch from the very idea about you.

Understand, you have two identities. The identity which you carry and project to the outer world as you are, this is called ‘Ahamkara‘. And another one identity which you carry in you, which you believe as you inside your heart, this is called ‘Mamakara’. Your whole life is nothing but the fight between ahamkara and mamakara. How you want to project you and how you believe as you. What you want to project you and what you believe as you. Your life is nothing but the fight between these two identities. Ahamkara will always be much more than what you are – superiority complex. Mamakara will always be much lower than what you are  – inferiority complex. Your whole life is nothing but the suffering between this inferiority and superiority. Whether the thoughts are related to inferiority or superiority, neither give life nor suppress them. Just unclutch.

Now the important fear comes – “If I constantly unclutch who will run my life”. Understand, your prarabdha, with which you created your body, that is what I call bio-memory. Your  bio-memory is intelligent enough to run your body and maintain your infrastructure and expand your wealth. Trusting this truth is what I call “Bhakti”. Krishna says “Ananya-s-chintayanto Maam Yae Janaah Pary-upaasatae. Taesham Nithya-abhi-yuktaanaam Yoga-kshemem Vahami-aham” means “whoever resides in me, remembering constantly me, their needs and comforts, I myself bring and see that things stay with that person”. This assurance He gives for the people who have the fear of unclutching and relaxing. I tell you just try for 10 days, I am not saying try for whole life. Try unclutching for 10 days, if your balance sheet does not increase forget about Me and My technique. You will see it straight away adds to your life. Nothing will be reduced, nothing will be taken away. Your clarity, your profession, your relationship, your health everything will be added. 10 days constantly unclutch, whether you are eating, sleeping, driving, constantly try to unclutch. If it does not improve your life then forget about it. Don’t bother. I tell you, you will never miss it. I have seen how it just transforms your life. Don’t have this hypothetical fears. Mind exists based on hypothetical fears. If you look into the hypothetical fears mind will disappear. Do not entertain the hypothetical fears of your mind. Just try for 10 days. When I say this I am responsible for this words. Just try 10 days this unclutching, I assure, I have seen it only adds your health, adds to your wealth, adds to your well-being and adds to your relationship. Only your fear creates an idea that who will run my life. You will run your life in a much better way when you are unclutched.

You pick up few thoughts here and there. A conveyor belt is moving with thoughts on it, you pick up few thoughts and create a shaft. Either you pick up all sufferings and create a pain shaft or pick up all joyful memories and incidents and create a joy shaft. If you try to elongate the joy shaft or break the pain shaft both is impossible because the shaft does not exist. Third important thing, fortunately every new thought proves the old thought has lost its influence over your inner space. This proves no suffering can overtake you. Eternal hell does not exist. Understand, the eternal hell is a foolish concept taught to you to torture and frighten you. Because even here nothing can be eternal, it just moves. There is a beautiful one liner – you can’t step into the same river twice.  Because by that time you put your second step the river has moved. I tell you you can’t step into the same river even once, because by the time you put your foot and it reaches the ground, water has moved. Constantly the very replacement by new thoughts shows that you have a inner space which gets replaced, which gets rejuvenated, which gets refreshed, which is untouchable, which is pure. Because the inner space is pure you are able to have new, new thoughts. The new thoughts happening proves old thoughts have lost their influence over you. So, do not be afraid of depression, suffering, fear, desire or anything. Do not be afraid of internal enemies. Let you be liberated from the internal enemies.

And the last essence, the ultimate thing – Do not be afraid of unclutching. A small example, in North India they will have a strange way of trapping the birds. I have seen in my wandering. I have spent my 10 years in walking all over India, begging and eating and sleeping under the trees and meditating. I have seen in North India they will have a trap to catch birds. They will put a stick and hang it between two trees, that’s all. When this stick is hanging, the bird will come and sit on the stick. When it sits just because of its own weight, the stick will turn upside down as shown in the image below. This poor bird starts thinking that if it will relaxes or leaves the stick, it will fall and die. I have seen for hours the bird will be hanging, the poor guy will be fluttering, will be trying its best, shaking the wings. But he will be hanging thinking that if he relaxes or lets go, he will fall and break his head and die.

Have you heard anytime a bird falling from sky and breaking his head and dying, NO. Fool does not know that if he lets go he can just fly, he can be liberated. I have seen the bird will be hanging, this hunter will slowly come after 2-3 hours, pick up that bird and put it in the cage. How that foolish bird is thinking, if it lets go he will fall die. Same way we have the fear that if we let go of our mind, if we unclutch we will fall and our life will become mess, we will disappear. Understand, there is no record, the bird which opened up has fallen and died. Same way a person who has unclutched has lost something in his life. One more thing, the bird feels that the stick is a security, it hangs on to it. When the hunter comes not only he loses the stick which he thinks as security, he is eternally prison-ed. Same way what you think as security, your mind and life, if you hold on to it what happens when the hunter which is Death comes , not only what you think as security will be lost and also you will be put to death. Just like that bird in a very foolish way we are hanging to that stick, the mind, with the fear if we let go what will happen.  Sometimes I have seen the birds which are flying, they will come and poke this bird, and tell “Hey, let go, I had the same problem. When I relaxed I just started flying”. All it takes is 2-3 seconds to balance. The bird will be topsy-turvy, when it leaves, may be 2 second it will start falling, and it just turns and start flying. Courageously facing that 2-3 second chaos is what I call “Tapas”. When you unclutch, there will be some revolution in your life, in day to day thinking, decision making, in your daily routine, in your life style. Courageously going through that revolution, going through that transformation which happens in you is what I call tapas. Rarely the bird which was stuck like this in the trap, but had courage and let go of the stick, it comes back and tells the other bird which is hanging to let go, relax. Understand, if the bird relaxes it will be enjoying its freedom. Same way if you let go you will become paramahamsa. Let me tell you I was hanging, now just because I have seen this in my experience, with that courage, with that authenticity, with that satya (truth)…. Please understand, when it comes from the experienced inner space even if your logic is fighting don’t bother you will have that experience. When it comes from the truth, it will reach your true self and being, all you need to do is just let go, you will become paramahamsa. Let you live enlightenment.

Life lived in an unclutched way is what I call Living Enlightenment.
