Be clear, honest to your center, to your understanding. It is perverted understanding that good people suffer and bad people enjoy!

An important thing you should know: accept honor only from the person who has experienced you. He can never dishonor you. Even if he dishonors only he will suffer. You will not suffer. Live on the path of dharma, righteous conduct, having a clear understanding about you and allowing only the people who experience you to honor you. You will see that even if those people dishonor you, you will not be touched in any way because dharma is so powerful. It fills your inner space and protects you.

Dharma means to be clear, honest to your center, to your understanding.

Dharma is what we call righteous or conscious behavior.

It is not the moral behavior demanded by society. If you follow the law of society you are protected in the outer world. If you follow the law of dharma you are protected in the inner world. When you are in dharma you will always be right and you will never fall in depression.

We bother so much about following the law to have the protection from the outer world. Understand, follow the dharma. You will never fall into the difficulties and depressions that come from the inner world. The inner world problems are much stronger, more difficult and more dangerous than the outer world problems. When inner world problems happen, immediately you are shaken and you will invite outer world problems. (more…)

Do we have the ability and the right to decide, what is good for us ?

Mohandas Pai: Swamiji, in our lives, we are subject to so many external rules. We are told to behave in a particular manner, to live in a particular manner, to eat in a particular manner. Now do we have command over our own lives? Do we have the ability and the right to decide, what is good for us, as we seek happiness and peace in our lives?

Swamiji:  Whoever does not understand the context is bound by the rule. Whoever understands the context is empowered by the rule.

Mohandas Pai: Oh…

Swamiji: Any rule. Whether it’s a traffic rule or dressing rule or eating rule, any behavior, any rule, if we do not know the context, why it is formulated, that will be binding us. If we know, why it is formulated, 2 thing will happen –

One – Even while you follow, you will not feel you are bound. You will not be feeling bound if you stop in the red signal in the traffic rule if you know the context. While you were following, you will not feel bound.

Second – All the grey area will be your freedom.

The freedom which comes by knowing the context is two end – One, even while you are following, you will not be bound. Second, all the grey area is your freedom. But when we don’t know the context, even while you are following, we will feel we are slaves and we do not know the grey area and we do not have the freedom or command over the grey area. At the end of the day, even Powers, is nothing but knowing the grey area of the Cosmic Rules. When we know the context, context of the Cosmic rules is Dharma. When we know the Dharma, even if you follow the rules, you will not feel bound and because you know the grey area, you know where to play. Knowing where you can play and where you need to obey, itself is a Power.

I will enter into Kathopanishad. I have something very important to share with you all in Kathopanishad today. I was explaining the way the Vajashravas mind was getting degraded and the space he was going through. Please understand, when I explain the degradation happening to Vajashravas, the meaning of the explanation is – please don’t allow that to happen in you. It is not that I have personal anger with Vajashravas, so I am tearing him to pieces. (laughs) No. I am doing literally post-mortem of his mind and his being, because … so that you will not let that happen to you. See, if you are a person of the business nature, don’t ever try to enter into the power game. Because, in power game lot of risks will be taken, which you can’t afford.

You can easily be put in pain if you are a business natured person. Please understand, if you are a business natured person only one of your shop getting attacked is enough, you will move out of politics or you will move out of all the power game.

Always try to catch your nature based on your root-pattern and fulfill that. That will bring tremendous feeling that you lived.

Please understand the feeling that you lived, that fulfillment that you lived, that is the first step for Enlightenment. See, there are extraordinary Paramahamsas, who doesn’t even need to enter into life, who can just get everything out of their system and directly get enlightened. But, 99% of us are not that way. We get into the regular life and go through the ups and downs and root- pattern and everything. Only through this way we are going. So, 99% of us the way we are travelling … please understand, the fulfillment you lived. (more…)

I will expand on Kathopanishad, the introduction story. Please understand, it’s a very beautiful story, the introduction story.

There was a time aliens were not aliens to us. Please understand. When your mind divides, divides, divides, even the other country people are called aliens. No, this is the extreme stupidity some of the so called developed countries call the other country citizens as aliens. The abusive nature and arrogant nature. See, I am not saying that what India is suffering by the Bangladeshi invaders, that should be allowed. No, I am not supporting that. See, if someone wants to come from Bangladesh and live here, be part of our society, I don’t think I have any right to oppose. But when they come here, try to harm our villages, run a riot, do criminal acts, then we have all the right to protect ourself. But no way we have a right to give them the title ‘aliens’. We have no right to give the title ‘aliens’.

There was a time when we were so vast in our heart. The Satya Yuga, even aliens were not aliens, they were able to smoothly, easily come and go. We were able to go to their space and come. That was the time this story happened, where a seven year old kid can straight walk up to Yama’s abode …Yama comes, showing his form clearly. Aliens were not aliens in those days. I hope again, the same space will come back. (more…)

This great Upanishad, Kathopanishad, Upanishads are the essence of Vedas.  Among the Upanishads, Kathopanishad is Upanishad shiromani, Upanishadasikamani means it’s one of the best Upanishads because the subject it deals is Death.

Please understand, with right understanding Death can become rejuvenation energy, energy which will rejuvenate you.  Don’t think death is always a curse, when you don’t understand, it’s a curse. Actually when you don’t understand even Chiranjeevatva, eternal life is a curse, do you know the Chiranjeevis of the world Prahalad, Markandeya, Hanuman, Ashwathama, in all these Chiranjeevis, Ashvathama was cursed to be Chiranjeevi. Please understand, Ashwathama Chiranjeevatva is not a boon for him, that he will never die is not a boon given to Ashvathama, it was a curse given to him.  Just imagine you are never going to die, you will literally be swallowing tons and tons of depression pills and boredom pills, if you don’t understand life, the life is not understood, life is a curse.  If death is not understood, death is a curse.  If you understand both, I tell you, every time death happens it is a possibility for you to rejuvenate and take a new body. Kathopanishad talks about death, so many secrets about death and how you need to live your life to understand death, have liberation when natural death happens to you. (more…)

Listen, every moment the happening in you, means your Life. Listen carefully..Life. You may be marching towards your goal to achieve something in the outer world or inner world or you may just be confused and stuck. Whatever, but Life IS happening to you. Please understand, even feeling confused and getting stuck, is Life happening. Sometime people feel, you are not even letting us live in confusion and depression little bit. Understand, confusion and feeling stuck, is Life happening. Life happening. So, in this happening of Life, whenever you change the game, like the rules with which you need to play with the matter, if you play it with Consciousness; the rules with which you need to play with Consciousness, if you play with matter.

A ship is very safe, most secured in the port, when it docked, whatever, but it is not created just for that purpose. Understand, if you always decide based on law of life — if the ship is parked or locked in the port, it is very safe, most secured. Yes, no doubt! But the purpose of ship is not just being docked in the port.

Law of life is only teaching about the most secure things. Flow of life is exciting, adventurous, innovating, opening up different possibilities. (more…)

au saha nāvavatu | saha nau bhunaktu | saha vīryam karvāvahai |

auśāntiśāntiśānti ||

Listen! The whole concept of Indian education system, how it was, how it should be – in future – how it was and how it should be in future. Please understand, whenever I am glorifying the past, I am not indulging in it, I am visualising it for the future. Listen! If the past makes you more and more powerless, you are indulging in it. If it makes you to decide to build your future again and again, it is vision. It is vision.

Understand, all you need to do in your life, all you need to do to make what you want as reality. Looking at the right past, that gives you courage, hope, to relive it, to recreate it, the real future. Here the word ‘past’ I use should be understood not from the context of your past, but from the context of collective past. Understand, whenever I am describing about Vedic tradition, I am describing the glory of the collective past created by enlightened masters. I am not talking about your past. (more…)

auṁ saha nāvavatu | saha nau bhunaktu | saha vīryam karvāvahai |

This verse explains the context of Gurukul, listen. This verse explains the context of Gurukul. Gurukul means, the literal meaning of the Gurukul is, Guru’s home. Please understand. In the Hindu tradition family is the nucleus, you demolish any thousands of number of temples. You burn any thousands of numbers of scriptures, as long as the family system is alive, we will stand back. We will come back. Because, Sanatana Hindu Dharma values are transmitted, transferred through the family tradition. The gotra (family lineage)…I wanted to tell this to all you guys, as much as possible please live as large joined families. Either become a Sannyasi, be in the Gurukul, which is large joined family, of Gurukul. Or live as much as possible – it depends on your heart, how many people your heart can accommodate without judging. How many people your heart can take up without judging. (more…)

Whenever you see there is no possibility for new flow of energy in your life, then comes boredom, frustration, violence.

Understand, boredom is one of the biggest crimes done to individual consciousness. Boredom is one of the biggest crimes done to individuals by the collective society. And the worst crime is giving foolish solutions for the foolishly created boredom, the so-called entertainment industry. Understand, instead of solving the problem in the root. For example, you are having a nightmare that 10 tigers are chasing you, 11 lions are attacking you, the anaconda is running behind you. In the dream, you are running. In the bed itself, you are screaming, “Oh save me, save me, tiger is coming. Anaconda is coming….” If somebody brings and gives you AK47-59, and tell you, “Come on, my dear friend, how can you be suffering? Save yourself.” You don’t know whether he will shoot himself or you.

The problem needs to be handled in a simple way. Just tap him, “Aye. Wake up.” But instead, if you try to solve the issue by giving AK47-59, “Wow. I am giving 59 in the right hand, and 47 in the left hand…” and giving even 2, 3 bombs so that he can throw that and run away from all the animals chasing you. How stupid you are! That is exactly what society is doing to you. Instead of making you understand the source of the boredom, and go beyond it, it is providing entertainment industry. Don’t, don’t live in a country where the entertainment industry is too big. Listen, don’t live in a village, where there is no temple. Don’t live in a place where there is too much of entertainment. If there is too much of entertainment, be very clear, those place, people are too violent to divert their attention. Entertainment industries are flourishing. (more…)

Why is work boring ?

Listen, all the system which make you a number, tries to put you just into the ‘law of life’, Dharma, is making you forget the flow of life, Yama.

Understand, I am revealing the definitions of Yama – flow of life, Dharma – law of life. The sacred secrets related to both directly from Akashic records.

Why is office boring. Why is work boring? Why is work tiring? Because you wrongly cognize and you are made to cognize, it is all same. It is law of life. No! Never this throne is same for Me second day. Understand, everyday it is new for Me. Everyday it is new for Me. Everyday you are new for Me. Everyday, I am new for Me. Everyday, what I am uttering is new for Me.

Celebration comes from Yama, understanding the flow of life; not just by Dharma.

Understanding law of life is great, it makes thing easy. Like I gave the example: if there is fire, you have to run out of this hall. If there is earthquake, you have to move out of this hall. This is the Dharma, law of life. It is good, as far as things of matter is concerned, dealing with the matter is concerned. But it is unfortunate, unconsciousness of the people and society makes you think and feel—even your life is law of life, Dharma, no! It is flow of life, Yama.

Look in, where all you froze yourself. Break all those frozen part of you, that is what staring at Death. (more…)

How constant dying, which is happening in all of us – if it is approached violently, arrogantly, negatively – turns into pain and suffering. If is it approached with the mood of listening passively how it leads to transformation.

Listen. By your very nature, you are Living Consciousness, how much ever you try to frame you into certain ideas and ideologies, for the sake of convenience of your everyday life. Please understand, if there is fire in this hall, you have to run out. This frame is perfect to have. If there is an earthquake, you need to leave the hall, go to open space. This framework is perfect to have. Nothing wrong in it. These frameworks, rules, understandings, regulations are good to have in the outer world. Like, you will sleep only in your house. These are all good to have, but it is so unfortunate, you start putting framework for you inside. Like first time when I feel powerless at the age of 7, how I responded, I will respond the same way till the age of 79, whenever I feel powerless – is a bad framework.

Listen, understand the difference. If there is a fire, you need to run out of this hall, is a good framework to have; nothing wrong with it. If there is earthquake, you need to leave this hall, it’s a good framework as far as the outer world is concerned, the frameworks are okay because matter functions based on death, decision and frameworks.

Listen, matter, the external matter, because it is already dead, it functions only based on certain law of life. It does not have flow of life. Listen, it has a Dharma, it does not have Yama. (more…)

First and foremost commandment of Hinduism is THOU SHALL NOT DIE!

There is so much of powerlessness, powerlessness based focus on Death. But, if you turn your attention on dying, the powerlessness will be removed from Death. If you are waiting for Death to stare at you, you are waiting for powerlessness to overpower you. If you are staring at Him, when He is staring at somebody else, you are removing the powerlessness from Death. Understand, as a Hindu Incarnation, authority on Hindu tradition, Upanishad, and the Hindu way of living and Hindu goals, Hindu ambitions, I tell you, first and foremost commandment of Hinduism is THOU SHALL NOT DIE.

Do what it takes. Do what it takes. THOU SHALL NOT DIE—that is the first and foremost commandment for Hindus. Fools are those who die, stupid are those who plan for liberation after death, Hypocrites are those who never look into the eyes of death while living. Criminals are those who are diverting others attention also from the Death by stupid, shallow, shady lifestyles. Any lifestyle which is trying to divert your attention from looking into the eyes of Death and ability to go beyond the death, that life is shady, shallow, stupid, hypocritical, blind. Criminals are those who are promoting those lifestyles and diverting your attention from the original need of life, going beyond death. (more…)

Let’s enter into Kathopanishad. I have to introduce the subject of Kathopanishad, then the author, then the listener, and the whole thing, but ultimately I have to say the book is authorless. Even Yama reads the Akashic Records about death. So it is not his own words, he only reads the Akashic Records that is why it is authorless.

Death, the subject of Kathopanishad. Understand, death as the end of the known frightens you, whatever you know, the known people, known wealth, known good, known bad, whatever is known is coming to an end, stand still, that is why it frightens you. Listen, listen with awareness, whatever is known, is coming to a standstill, because whatever is known is coming to a standstill, you are afraid of death. Then are you happy with whatever is known and to live with it? Where is the gap? Neither you are happy with whatever is known, ready to live with it, nor you are ready to give up. Whatever is know and ready to go beyond and rejuvenate yourself. See how we are stuck? Understanding about death will liberate you from this, where you are caught, being caught cannot be considered as living. So understand, all of us know only two states in our life; death and dying. Death and dying, where your perception of the known ends, it is called death, where your perception continues to torture you, continues to torture you, it is called dying. Listen, I am introducing one of the important sacred secrets about death to you, when death is staring at somebody, decide to stare at him. (more…)

First and foremost commandment for Hindus—thou shall not die. Understand. Death beyond the frustrated poets’ descriptions, constipated philosophers, discrepancies, brain dead intellectuals ‘blah blahs’, beyond all this…the Lord of Death is directly taking the questions about Death from a small kid.

The story has lot of significance. He is able to explain it even for a small kids means, there is no propositions and suppositions. Understand, anything, which has become realization without prepositions and suppositions, that is the only Universal truth.

This modern day western mathematicians and stupid scientists, they develop so many stupid theories and formulas – constant, infinity, which has no value. Then what do you mean by this formula? Your theory, your formula has no value, because you insert somewhere one constant or infinity, which can’t be described. Understand, who is continuously perceived will never be a mystery, can never be a mystery, who is a great mystery can never be continuously perceived. Here is a greatest paradox–constantly available, perceived. Any moment, anywhere, anybody can perceive Death. Anybody who perceives becomes ‘body’.

Constantly experienced, perceived, especially in this great land. Largest cremation ground in the world is Manikarnika Ghat. Please understand, largest in the world, not in India, in the world.  Anything related to human numbers, if you are successful in India, it is the largest, because it is the largest population. That is why any movie star, any celebrity, any guru, who has a large following in India can straight away use the word largest in the world. This land largest cremation ground, average 350 bodies are burnt everyday. On special days! I don’t know how they call ‘special days.’ Its goes even up to 500, who knows when that special day!

Largest cremation ground! Here very casually while you are walking on the road, you can see 4 people carrying, if you see anything bigger than suitcase it is dead body. In Varanasi anything you see 4 people carrying or 2 people carrying a little bigger than suitcase, covered completely with a cloth, be very clear, it is a dead body. The other day I saw, they nicely unloaded near a tea shop, chai shop, and all of them, both of them are sipping a chai and that fellow is lying there, very comfortably both of them are sipping their chai, after the chai they religiously lift the body again, start walking. Kathopanishad – direct word from the Lord of Death

Kathopanishad is the last 8 sections of Taittiriya Samhita, Krishna Yajur Veda. It is 119 verses. When Sri Rama Chandra lists all the 108 Upanishads in Muktikopanishad to Hanuman, Rama lists this Upanishad as the third Upanishad.

The main subject of the Upanishad is DEATH. Even though I have spoken many times bits and pieces of this Upanishad, here and there I have quoted this Upanishad, I used this Upanishad to explain the truths, sacred secrets behind Death. In many of our programs, satsangs, but now formally, systematically I have to introduce this Upanishad. It looks tooo big. I am just wondering…It is like I have to chisel the whole mountain using a small chisel and hammer. Where will I start, how will I continue? It is just using my small words, now I will have to describe and introduce this whole Upanishad.

This Upanishad is not commandment of somebody who realized God, no! Even if you realized God, a little bit will be your Enlightenment experience, a little will be your brain masala. There is a possibility for corruption, misrepresentation, manipulation or missing it. (more…)

Asurya naama they lokaa andhena thamasaavruthaah | Thaagumsthey prethyabhigachchanthi ye ke chaathmahano janaah ||

Listen!  Please listen!  No one is good, no one is bad.  If somebody does the actions which fulfill your ambitions, you call them as “good”.  If somebody does actions which are not fulfilling your ambitions, you call them “bad”.  No one is right, no one is wrong.  No one is good, no one is bad.  Deciding somebody is good or bad, right or wrong, is purely dependent on how much they are supporting your ambition.  So, what Cosmos answers, what is the answer of Cosmos for this issue?

The Upanishads, please understand, Upanishads are Dharma declaring its authority and authenticity by itself.  No human-being is involved in it.  No human vested interests are involved in it.  No!  Here, no Prophet, no Messenger, no Son of God, not even God, is involved, understand?  Hindu Tradition is so bold, God has only second place!  The Dharma, Upanishads, stand taller than the concept of God, understand?  It stands taller than the concept of God!   (more…)

Listen! Yesterday I was explaining two concepts. Later on I tried to ask my sannyasis, ‘How many of you understood?’ Anyhow…..now I am explaining it again. It means, you understand how many understood!

Two words I introduced: “Inclusiveness” and “Conclusiveness”.

Listen! Whenever you operate based on logic, you arrive to conclusions, and move from conclusions to more conclusions. Like Maths: Conclusions! And Science: Conclusions! Your logic, thinking! One of the important components of your life moves in the line of conclusions. It doesn’t care about anything else. It doesn’t care about anything else. One of the biggest problems you face in this way of moving with conclusions….. There are many advantages when you are moving with conclusions. If you want to reach Delhi, if you have a conclusive calculation – how many hours it will take, which road you will have to drive, how many kilometres from where you are….. You need conclusive details; only then you can reach Delhi. So, there are many advantages if you move in the language of logic; it is very conclusive. Unfortunately, there are some disadvantages. Even you will feel bored because life itself is not always conclusive, and life itself is not always logically analyzable and quantifiable or reproducible. (more…)

Dharma declares its authority by itself is Upanishads. Without the help of any author, or the authority of any author! Author not only brings authenticity, he brings authority also. Here, Dharma does not need authenticity or authority from anyone else. The person who lends authenticity, naturally lends authority also. When he lends authenticity, he has authority. Upanishads don’t need anybody to authenticate it. So, nobody has authority over it. That is why “Apourushya” – “no author”! It is declaring its own grandeur and beauty by its own existence.

First, foremost, and final words given to the universe from the Universe, given to humanity from the Cosmos

Listen! This is the first and foremost, and final word! Upanishads are not like Science, every day developing. For example, today a scientist will come and declare something as truth. Everyone will agree. That will be considered as truth. People will make their life’s decisions, align everything based on that truth. In ten years, another scientist will come and prove that whole thing as false and declare something else as truth. Then people will align their lives to that. And then, after five years, somebody else will come and declare that as a lie and prove something else as truth. Understand, if the truth is going to be changing tomorrow, it is not truth even today. Upanishads are not like science which is evolving or changing. It is like a scientist carries a lantern in a thick forest and tells the truths about the forest to the world, ‘There are ten trees, two snakes, and….dark.’ When you walk further, ‘No, no, the forest is not just ten trees and two snakes; it is more than twenty-five trees, and two elephants.’ When you walk further, ‘No, no, no, no, no, it is not even twenty-five trees. Trees, trees, trees! Any side we turn the lantern, it is trees, trees, trees all around, and different types of animals!’ This is what is Science! But, Upanishads are a Rishi sitting and seeing the whole forest in a flash of lightning and describing it! Understand, the lantern descriptions will always change; but the Rishi sitting in the peak of the hill, seeing the whole thing in one flash of lightning, and penning it down, is Upanishads! Understand the difference between these two. Upanishads are the first, foremost, and final word on truth! First, foremost, and final word on truth!

Dharma is operating from the right context

The more and more you listen, the more and more you reach the space of Completion. The more and more you enter into the space of Completion, the more and more you are established in the space of Advaitha. Even if you show good qualities like non-violence, because of Self-Doubt it cannot be considered as Dharma. I am not saying be violent. All I am trying to tell you is be non-violent from the right context. Only then it is Dharma. Everything has to be done from the right context. Right context! Listen! Right context! Everything has to be done from the right context. You should be non-violent from the understanding that what you feel as you is the same they feel as them about them, not because you have doubt about yourself so you allow them to attack you and you withdraw. Withdrawal because of Self-Doubt is not Dharma. That is what Arjuna was trying to do. Even though he was trying to hide his Self-Doubt, the shivering, the description shows he has entered into Self-Doubt. Shivering, frightened, he didn’t even have the power and strength to hold the Gandiva, the bow. But he says, ‘No, no, no, what is the use of killing all of them? Even if I get the kingdom by killing all of them, why should I do?’ No! He may be uttering those words, but already the Self-Doubt is making him shiver, will he be able to kill them?

Understand, Arjuna withdrawing due to Self-Doubt can never be Dharma. If he withdraws from the context, ‘Me and them are the same energy. Then why should I need to kill them? Let them rule the kingdom. What is the problem?’, if, from that Advaithic context he has withdrawn, it is Jnana. With that Advaithic context – ‘Yes, me, what I feel as me is the same what they experience as them, what they feel as…’…….

Listen! I am defining! What I feel as me in the pure listening is what is they also. But, unfortunately, they are not listening to that part of them. So, let them be given the right punishment and made to listen to that part of them which is me, which is both, the pure consciousness; that is Vijnana. Understand?

By defining the Mahabharata, I am defining my war strategy. Yes! What I experience as me is what they also experience; unfortunately, they are so aggressive, they are not listening to their own pure consciousness. So, let them be taught a lesson, let them understand, let them be made to listen to their consciousness.

The Gita clearly describes:

गाण्डीवं स्रंसते हस्तात्त्वक्चैव परिदह्यते ।
न च शक्नोम्यवस्थातुं भ्रमतीव च मे मनः ॥१-३०॥

Gaandivam sramsathey hasthaath thvak cha eva paridahyathey |
Na cha shaknomi avasthaathum bhramatheeva cha may manaha ||

“My bow, Gaandiva, is slipping from my hands, and my skin is burning all over, and my mind is whirling, and I am now unable to stand here any longer.”

It is a direct symptom of desperate depression, desperation plus depression put together. The diagnosis is directly “desperation and depression” put together….the symptoms. So, withdrawal at this mood is Adharma, not Dharma.

Who does not manipulate Dharma in his thinking, there is no blind spot in his thinking. If he knows right, he does it; if he does not know, he knows it is not required. If he does not get up in the morning and come for Yoga, he knows it is not required. If he knows it is required, he is not inefficient, or there is no impossibility.” That is what I call no blind spot, no manipulation of the principle.
